Film Screening – Time you Need
Screening of Sarah Sparkes’ film Time You Need, winning film in the 3rd edition of the MERU ART*SCIENCE award, Screening commences at 7:00with an Introduction by artist Sarah Sparkes and astrophysicist and artist Pietro Reviglio. Also a chance to see the two solo exhibition by Fergus Hare and Sarah Sparkes as part of First Thursdays late openings.
Time You Need explores the potential for consciousness to time-travel within the material limits of the human body. Using the symbolism of portals and black holes, as they are conceptualized in both science and science fiction, the film presents a montage of narratives and documentation of performances and installations, which together with sonic and visual disruptions, create a liminal experience for the spectator. The idea is that, here, each of us can find the time we need.
